Overview & Status of Services

Virtual Walk-in Clinic

The virtual walk-in clinic will work the same way, but rather than coming to the counseling center, students can call the center and either speak with a counselor then or as one becomes available. The majority of all appointments will be done virtually or over the phone. If you have specific questions about counseling services or want to make an appointment, please call 405-744-5458.

Student Counseling

UCS is now able to complete intake assessments over the phone for new students seeking counseling services. Students need to call the Student Counseling Center (405-744-5458) to speak to a staff member.

Students will then be sent a link to necessary paperwork. Upon completion, students will do an intake appointment over the phone the same day during our “virtual” walk-in clinic hours (M-F, 10-3). Intakes will be conducted over the phone, but subsequent services will have an option to do counseling sessions through Zoom.

Students who are not in Oklahoma will still need to be referred either to local services or MDLive.

Grand Lake Mental Health Center

In an effort to support students during peak times of the semester, University Counseling Services has partnered with community mental health provider Grand Lake to offer telehealth counseling services to students at no cost. Grand Lake is an Oklahoma based nonprofit community mental health provider. Please call 405-744-4548 for more information on getting setup with this service.

Group Counseling

Group therapy, if conducted, will be done remotely. We are evaluating the status of ongoing small groups. We anticipate some groups will be disrupted or lack adequate numbers to continue. A representative from our office will call to provide more information to those involved.

Mental Health Education Series

We are temporarily suspending our mental health series during this time to limit larger gatherings.

Reboot Center

The Reboot Center will be closed this fall semester.
